After a quick breakfast, we’ll leave for the Bhimkali Temple at Sarahan. Counted amongst the famous 51 Shaktipeeths, the temple is very sacred to Hindus. Continue your drive to Sangla which takes around 4-5 hours by road. Reach your destination in the evening. Choose to stay in luxury-tented accommodation or a hotel. Post lunch, enjoy a walk through Kamru and Sangla villages where you visit the beautifully carved old temples and Buddhist monasteries. Here, you’ll get the chance to interact with local people and listen to their stories. The Sangla valley is also known as the Baspa Sangla valley, after the river Baspa which flows through the valley and it is part of Kinnaur valley. Enjoy an overnight stay in a hotel in Sangla.
After enjoying a delicious breakfast, you’ll visit Sangla, Kamru village to witness the charm of Kamru Fort where you visit the Kamaksha Devi Temple. Being a populous and fertile village, Sangla is located at an altitude of 2621 mts above sea level and at a distance of 17 kms from Karcham. Echoing the scenic beauty of the gigantic Raldang Peaks, from Sangla reach Chitkul – the inhabited village on the Indo-Tibetan border. Located along the famous Baspa valley, Chitkul has terrain and green vegetation on the slopes. Also, get a chance to catch the glimpse of the mighty Mt. Kinner Kailash from here. Spend the night at Sangla.
On the third day, the drive towards Kalpa from Sangla that takes around 2-3 hours by road. Halt at Recongpeo where you can explore the offerings at the local market. Dine in at the local restaurant where you can try out many different Indian as well as Tibetan cuisines. Reach Kalpa in the evening and rest at the hotel for an overnight stay.
Visit the Kalpa village and the nearby Roghi village after breakfast. Covered with thick pine forests and apple and apricot orchards, these villages get you a chance to hobnob with the spectacular view of Mt. Kinner Kailash located at an altitude of 6000mts above sea level. It has all the characteristics of a heritage village. Kalpa came into prominence in the wake of British Governor General Lord Dalhousie's visit in the 19th century overnight stay at the same hotel at Kalpa Valley.
